Family Tour

This is actually Carrie, not Maren.

I am posting this while on the road (well, not actually the road, more like a chair in Maren’s living room but not at home anyway.)

I am doing a spring break family tour.  I’ve been planning for a few weeks to visit everyone I can who lives in this area- it’s not where we’re from, but almost all of the family seems to have congregated here for some unknown reason.  There are two sisters and two brothers to visit, from my side of the family, and on the other side of the family I’ve got a great grandma, a great Aunt, a sister-in-law, and two brother -in- laws.  Sounds like a restful vacation, doesn’t it?  ha ha

Actually I’ve already visited great grandma, great aunt, two sisters, one brother, and one sister-in-law, and I’ve still got three days to go.  Tomorrow my dear sweet husband will join me (he is not on spring break, he’s got work and all that).  There has been some debate about whether he’s flying down or driving down.  We bought a ticket for him to fly- it’s a short cheap flight- but then dad-in-law decided he might be driving down, too, so there has been a rousing debate about whether or not dear sweet husband will join him.  Supposedly the plan has been finalized and they will drive together, but only time will tell at this point.  Dad-in-law and dear sweet husband could change their plans at any moment.  That’s how they roll. 🙂

Actually, the transportation debate is just me going on a tangent.  I wanted to get to the point that isn’t it wonderful to visit family?!.  It is totally worth the drive and the time and the craziness!  I especially love to visit my brothers and sisters.  It is so wonderful and amazing to me how we really all grew up and now we have these families and there are always more and more of us.  It makes me love life.

Yesterday I found myself in the car with my little brother and sister.  No spouses, no kids, just us.  How great is that!  The three of us haven’t been alone without everyone else in years and years.  I would say how many years, but that starts to reveal age and all that.  Suffice it to say, it has been a long time since it was just us “little kids” and it was awesome.

Today I get to visit another brother and then tomorrow it’s time to visit some more in-laws.  It’s going to be great.  Yay for the family tour!

Have fun with family! We’ll have 8 kids besides our own here for a few days, too. Excited!

  2. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a great job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox. Excellent Blog!
