Ode to My Carseat

I would just like to say a few words about my new carseat.

How do I love thee, new carseat, let me count the ways.

I love that you were the cheapest carseat on the Wal-mart shelf.  Thank you carseat for being inexpensive and still having a trusty five-point harness.

I love you carseat for having the same goal as me, keeping Tiny Baby alive and well.  Keep up the good work.

I love you, carseat, for being so cute.  When I bought you at the Wal-mart, you were not cute at all, but with the help of mom-in-law we have dressed you in a pretty Ritzy Baby cover, and you are looking so stylish.  (http://ritzybaby.com/)  It is fun to have you on my arm, I just love the way you get compliments for both of us because of your good looks.

Carseat, I also love the way your cover has a binky holder.  Without you all would be lost.

Dearest carseat, I cannot thank you and love you enough for being so comfy.  Tiny Baby sleeps so nicely in you all day long.  In fact, she sleeps in you so much, it got me thinking that maybe she would like you more than she likes her bassinet.  Maybe she would like to sleep in you at night time.  And guess what?  Tiny Baby only woke up once last night, while you were cradling her little body.  Thank you carseat.  Thank you so very very much.  I love you.

Cute post! I have used the car seat for my newborns lots of times. They do seem to sleep better in there than their cribs right at first. Car seats and swings were my salvation! 🙂 Glad she only got you up once last night!

Every time I put a grandchild in a car seat, I wonder how did I survive without one? Then “How did my children SURVIVE?”

I know! They seem so safe! Even when Alex was a baby (oh wait, that was 20 years ago…), the carseats were not built like they are now, Every time I strap a kid in, I feel like we’re prepping for space flight…

Oh, yes! My oldest would only sleep an hour at a time in the bassinet, yet he would sleep for 8 HOURS in his car seat!!! Guess which one became a diaper storage space.

  4. Carseats and swings ROCK…pun intended. 🙂 I loved them!! Awesome post Carrie!!
