More Fun With Miss 3

Okay, get ready, because I have some stupendous news….

Miss 3 is……

POTTY TRAINED!!

(insert picture of the biggest party in the world, right here)

Feel free to rise from your computer chair, cheer, yell, and give her a standing ovation.  🙂

(Also, I must take a moment to pay homage to My Super Amazing and Brilliant Friend Jillian who told me to wait until Miss 3 was indeed age 3 and the potty training would go much easier.  You were right my friend.  So, so very right.)

Now for a Miss 3 story.

Yesterday I took the girls out front to ride bikes.  Since Miss 9 has mastered her bike, I have been encouraging this.   Because I’m a nervous mom, I gave them each varying degrees of freedom to ride.  I let Miss 9 and Miss 7 ride together up and down the block.  (I’m not letting them cross any streets yet, or go around the whole block, but they do get to go corner to corner.)  Miss 5 came out to ride, too.  I let her go up and down in front of our grass.  (I didn’t feel quite comfortable enough to let her go in front of any driveways.)

Of course Miss 3 came out and of course she wanted to ride.  Of course this meant trouble.  I probably should have let her ride on the sidewalk with Miss 5, but I didn’t want her down by the curb so I told her to stay on the driveway.  I showed her the line on the end of the driveway and I called it the “Stop Line.”

It worked for a few minutes. (stop laughing)

She rode down the drive way to the Stop Line, turned around and went back up.  Twice.

The third time she scooted down to the Stop Line.  I saw her eyeing it so I said, “Remember that’s the Stop Line.  Don’t go past it.”

She sat for a moment, watching her sisters pedaling up and down the sidewalk.  She looked from them to the Stop Line.

Then she totally picked up her bike and carried it onto the grass, around the Stop Line!!

Off she went down the sidewalk.

For a moment I was stunned by her brilliance and her slyness.  Then I made her go back to the driveway.  🙂
