Happy Days:)

OH YEAH baby! I’m in a very good mood today, so don’t louse it up:) I’m doing my Kids-Start-School Dance.

As Lynn mentioned on Friday, the beginning of the school year is upon us. Her kids started last week, but my first batch went out today. Today is 7th grade day at the JH and 10th grade day at the HS. Also, my 6th grader who attends a charter school has his first day today.

Tomorrow, Timbo-Cutie-Pants gets on the bus, and my HS Senior goes out. Next week

MY VERY LAST KINDERGARTENER STARTS SCHOOL

I will most likely cry. Actually, I cried today when my little Jessica (5 ft tall, and built like a girl) got on the bus to jr high. When did she get so BIG? When did my last little girl stop being a little girl? Actually, several years ago, I’ve just been in Denial (which if you know me at all, you know is my favorite vacation spot). She headed out that door so confident, so excited….heh heh heh…by the end of the year, she’ll be begging me to write notes and let her stay home from school:)

The last kindergartener is a milestone. The last little chick to leave the safety of the nest for the cold world of public education. I’m seriously off the hook though, because one of the reasons I have not loved having a kinder-kid is that you have to pick them up in the middle of the day. This time, however, my baby is hop, hop, hopping on a bus. Nice. Of course, I’ll take him to school the first day, and take pics of him hanging up his backpack and finding his cubby, and sitting in a chair. I’ll cry, but try not to in front of him. (You’ll see me in the van, sobbing and wailing about babies, and osh-kosh overalls and boys who abandon their moms for missions…) I’ll drive home and get mocked by Blair, who thinks it’s funny that I cry when the kids pass milestones.

Then I’ll realize that the house is quiet.  And I’ll notice how fun it is to sit on the floor and play with babies who parents compensate me monetarily…and take them home before dinner time…

Hmmmm. That’s just about the time the tears dry up and the dancing starts:)
