Fall is here and that means Football!

The NFL lockout is over and football is here!  I love football and I especially love the Denver Broncos!  So even though I know my older sis is not a sports fan like me….here goes.

First of all, let me just rant for a brief moment about current Bronco events.  I am worried about our new coach, John Fox–seriously, who hires the worst coach in the NFL as your new head coach?!?!

And the quarterback drama? I am so over it.  Pick one and let’s go already.  It should probably be Orton, he has the most experience and seems pretty good.  I like Tim Tebow but I just think he needs some time.  He appears to be a great guy, on and off the field, and that is awesome to see in today’s climate of professional athletes.  But like I said, he needs more time and experience.

The Broncos need some serious defense.  Thankfully Elvis Dumervil is back and he is awesome!  Him combined with Von Miller should (and I say should because it looks good on paper–kind of like the Eagles so far) make for some good sack numbers!

You may be wondering why I think I know so much, and where do I get off giving advice about all this football stuff.  Well, let me just share my football credentials.  I have been a Bronco fan my whole life.  No kidding.  When my little sister was born we called her the “Orange Crush Baby.”  I have been around since the days of Elway and Rulon Jones.  I know who the Three Amigos were.  I partied when Zimmerman got into the Hall of Fame.  I know what it means to hate Dawg Town and Raider Nation and I cried when TD (Terrell Davis) retired.  Cried.

So, now that I have wowed and amazed you with my football knowledge and expertise of the Broncos, here are some basic football facts to help convert you to the world of football.  (Join me.)

1.  The quarterback is the guy with the ball–usually the cutest guy on the field–check out their publicity photos.  Nice.

2.  All players wear tight football pants, run a lot, bend a lot and are in good shape.  Enjoy watching them.  The uniforms are designed so that wives will watch with their hubbies.  LOL

3.  Football lends itself to great snack food!  Football shaped Oreos, chicken wings, nachos and lots of other fun party foods.  Try new recipes and be creative.  We like little smokies at our house.

4.  Cute new girl inspired fan gear like Pink sparkly jerseys.

My Elway Jersey, for instance.  Super cute and fun to wear.

5.  Victoria Secret even has a line of football clothes for women.  You can go shopping while you watch the game!

Come on ladies, pick your team and go for it!  Football is not just for men anymore.  The Broncos may not win the Superbowl this year, but I for one, will look super cute watching them try!

Go Broncos! When I met you I didn’t know the first thing about football. Thankfully you and Devon took me in and taught me a few things. I would not have survived the last 18 years without some football knowledge! I love the jersey! I’m afraid I don’t want a pink one, but I did put that on my Christmas wish list. After all I get him something Broncos every Christmas, maybe it’s his turn;)
