Want to know a secret? I don’t really like Valentines Day. Don’t get me wrong I love my husband and I enjoy dating him. I love getting gifts and cards from him. I just am not as thrilled with the idea that we are doing it because Hallmark and/or is telling us to. I prefer spontaneity and true emotion. A heartfelt card from him because he wanted to mean a lot more. A surprise bouquet for no reason at all–wonderful.
That being said my dear hubby is taking Thursday off and we are spending it together. Of course we did do that one day last week and the week before. We had brunch together and went shopping. A different time we stayed in bed and watched movies. So Valentines or not we would have spent it together. And to me that is what makes all the difference.
