Miss 2 Speaks Up

It is so fun to have a little girl who can talk.

I am referring to Miss 2.  Miss 8, 6, and 5 can each talk your ears off as well, but Miss 2 is really something else.  She can pretty much say everything and say it clearly.  And it can be fun.  I’m always saying that listening to a two-year old who can really talk gives an interesting insight into the two-year old mind.

Lately we’ve gotten a pretty clear insight into how she feels about church.  We were heading to the church a few weeks ago for a Saturday activity.  I don’t think she knew where we were headed since we weren’t dressed up and so it took her by surprise.  As we were walking into the building and she realized where we were, she started screaming.

“I don’t like this place!  I don’t like this place!”

She dropped to the ground, refused to move, and I had to drag her in to the nursery where she revived as soon as she saw that they were watching a movie and no one was going to make her sit still or be quiet.

Last Sunday, it was even more fun to listen to Miss 2 talking.  In the middle of the meeting, during one of the quietest moments (OF COURSE) she started expressing her church views again.

“I don’t like church!  I don’t like church!  Get me out of here!”

I fled as the people around me started chuckling.

Oh, the joy of my talkative two-year old!

(I guess I should be glad I only fled with a screaming child and not a throwing up one.  Sorry Maren!)
