In the Spirit of DI, I, too have some Good News and Bad News to share.
First of all, our roof is all done. 🙂 When we were picking out roofers we chose a company that also installs solar tubes, so we put one in the dark hallway outside our bedrooms and we really like it.
Now this is where the good news/bad news comes in.
Who remembers the story of the Dark Cave?
(You know, the one where Miss 2’s sisters were tossing her into the bathroom, with the lights off and calling it the dark cave… and she was terrified…)
Well, we ended up changing the exact spot we wanted the solar tube (tresses in the way, valley on the roof, blah, blah, blah) and it ended up going in right outside the bathroom door. So now, the bathroom isn’t totally dark. So when I asked Miss 2 to go wash up after breakfast, she said happily, “You mean in the light bathroom?”
Good news!! She’s not afraid of the bathroom!
Now for the bad news and it’s a doozy…
Because the solar tube is right outside the bathroom door, and we have a horribly designed bathroom with a toilet right in the middle of the room and in the center of the doorway, the toilet is glowing.
Seriously, I have proof for you. I took a picture!

So, the bad news is that now Miss 2 is not afraid of the bathroom, but
all the other girls are.
They’re calling it the “glowing beacon of death.”
