My Dream Vacation

Carrie has been texting me from Tennesee. The DI team is having fun and doing well! Go Lynn! Go kids! They should all be back next Tuesday, and we’ll get to hear all the fun:)

So, Lynn and Carrie are in Tennesee…

Blair is going to Africa…

A friend of mine is partying in Brazil….

I’m starting to sense a pattern here.

Get to know me, Win a trip!

I was thinking about this and wondering where I would go if I could. I could go to Georgia, where Leslie lives. Or  Colorado, where I grew up. Except that I think those ppl are coming here this summer.

I got to thinking tho, after talking to a girl named Stephanie yesterday, (Stephanie operates an extremely successful Etsy shop and has become so busy that she actually needs daycare to stay ahead of orders! You go girl!) She was saying how surprised she was at how much she got done in the few hours her kids were out of the house.

That’s when it occurred to me. I don’t need to leave. THEY need to leave.

Blair needs to take these kids and go somewhere with them for at least a week.

Can you imagine everything that could get done by me in my house if the people in it left for a freaking WEEK???

🙂

The projects. The laundry. The closets that could be cleaned, the carpets, the painting!  My mind is boggled with possibilities!

I could read! I could bathe! In a bath! Without curious onlookers, phone calls, and a variety of questions that can never seem to wait until AFTER the bath.

I could take a nap. I wouldn’t, that’s not me. But I COULD.

Wow.

If you’re a busy mom, this may sound as good to you as it does to me. Better than a beach, better than an crowded amusement park, or overrun national monument. Certainly better than an overlong plane/car/RV ride with one’s family…

Of course, no one is going anywhere. No one but Blair. Who is going to AFRICA.

A girl can dream, right?:)
