* GIVEAWAY TIME *
We are having a fabulous, Mother’s Day giveaway.
(you didn’t think we were going to let this day go by unheralded, did you?)
Trust me, you’re going to want what we’re giving.
Want a peek?
Here it is:
wow.
So, all you have to do to enter is share some of your Mother’s Day thoughts.
thoughts about your mom. . . .
thoughts about your grandma. . . .
. . . . memories of funny things given or received,
done to you, by you, or for you, on Mother’s Day.
After you share your thoughts, we’ll put your name in a shoe, and have a drawing.
You could be the winner of a big chocolate high heeled shoe! Yay!
And now, for some of my own Mother’s Day thoughts:
This is our mom. She’s great. She crochets fabulous afghans (actually she can crochet anything!) and rocks babies to sleep without even trying. She used to make us pancakes for breakfast (and dinner if we were lucky). She likes old Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, and Elvis Presley movies. She knows the words to every Christmas song ever written.
She is always, always, always there when we need her. And we know it. And we love her for it.
Thanks Mom! Thanks for being patient when I pretended to sleep whenever it was my turn to do the dishes. Thanks for not saying anything when I wore super crazy ugly clothes to junior high and wore my hair with the bangs stuck straight up in the air. Thanks for letting me have all the mental health days I needed in high school. Thanks for teaching me to keep things simple and not drive myself crazy with unnecessary hoopla.
And thank you Mom, for teaching me the value of a good Snickers Bar.
Happy Mother’s Day!

So cute and fun. Your mom hasn’t changed at all! Mine remains fabulous, too! I’m actually pretty exited about mother’s day this year – we need to bring a car from DC to Denver, but I was not keen on driving cross country with a three week old baby, so Dave and his best friend just took off with the two toddlers, and I get a long, quiet weekend with the new baby before the two of us fly out to meet them. Who would have thought I’d be so happy about spending mother’s day without most of my children? But in the 45 minutes since they’ve been gone, i,’ve already gotten SO much done. It’s amazing….
I can totally imagine loving a Mother’s Day without all the kids around. Enjoy it!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!!
Um where can I buy these shoes? Does this comment suffice as an entry to win? Major sexiness.
This comment is from our Mom, and she requests that this comment constitute entry in the contest for the chocolate shoe. She felt her pic being posted should automatically guarantee her a chocolate shoe….:)
Darn right. I think permission should be involved before pictures are posted.
