Let’s Do Something Fun

Like Lynn, I have also made a summer schedule.   I want to do nice things like remember to take the kids to the library so they won’t turn dumb over the summer and remember to use the zoo pass that My Dear Husband got us for Christmas.

Yesterday was Zoo Day.  We are off to a good start.  We watched the giraffes eating, picked out our favorite penguins and rode the carousel.  On the way home, I bought the girls chicken nuggets- I haven’t made my way over to free lunch at the park quite yet.  Then they had a picnic lunch outside.  (Be patient, I’m writing this laundry list for a reason.)  After lunch we were understandably fatigued, so we watched a movie.  Before it was even over, our Cute Little Friends’ called to invite girls to their house to play.  They donned their swimsuits and I walked them over.  After an hour or so, the fun ended when Miss 3 pooped her pants, so I went to pick them up.

Are You with me?  Zoo, picnic, movie, Cute Little Friends’ house for water play.

By now it was almost dinner time.  I felt like it could be time for some winding down.

Miss 5 said the following, on the way home, while still wet from her water fun:

“Mom, I sure hope you’re going to let us do something fun today.”

Um…. what?????  Seriously???

I had no response to that.  I was speechless.

At least Miss 7 and Miss 9 had the good grace to laugh when she said it.
