I have a thing about hair…as in I can’t leave mine alone. Color, cut, straight, curly, long, short, I’ve been them all. I suppose this must mean something psychologically, but it’s fun, and keeps me entertained. The great thing about your hair is that it can change in an instant (30 minutes for cut, hour for color) which makes it the fastest, and most economical way to change when you want. I mean, a box of hair color is only $3-15. I can’t get shoes that cheap, or a purse. AND the best part is that it always grows back, so when you are ready, you can do it again! You can be a new color every month! You can have whatever haircut you want. Whatever style, whatever:) I love that. Here are a few of my hair highlights spanning 20 years:
At the time of my wedding, in the late 80’s, I had the requisite layered, big-hair look:-

at the time of my engagement, natural color, permed, gelled, blowed, and curled with hot rollers. Not for moms!
Of course, like most moms, my hair spent most of it’s time in a ponytail..
and then I discovered hair color:) At first I stuck to my own color, but in 2000, after my 5th baby, to celebrate my 30th birthday, and a successful baby weight loss, I got the good idea to cut my hair and talked a sister into helping me bleach it. I do not have photographs of this, but in church, the first Sunday, a guy leaned over, tapped me on the shoulder and said, “You look just like Billy Idol.” Ahem.
After I’d bleached it, it was like stiff straw. I called the company who’s kit I’d used, and was informed that I’d not only followed the directions incorrectly, but that I’d have to wait several weeks before my hair and scalp were recovered enough to redye. I bought a hat.
Then, I really got going. I mean, after Billy Idol hair, you don’t really have anything to lose:)

I meant, Darker and shorter...
I admit, I’m already dying to see this short ‘do a different color…..and maybe spikier…
Let’s see…Browner? Redder? Blonder? Darker? Lighter? For $3 I can have whatever I want!
I see a trip to Walgreens in my future:)

That was awesome. And I love the new hair.
You are way more adventurous than I am! I’ve never tried color…. I’m just a little too nervous to. And it takes me forever to decide to change my style. Good for you for being willing to change! Cute, cute, cute!
I have tried different lengths, textures, and a few different shades (I have to have some red in there somewhere) but I think I am still trying to style it the same way. Not sure how to teach myself how to handle a new style.
You are gorgeous no matter what! Fun post! Thanks!
