Miss 17 got her Senior pictures done! They are beautiful, just like her. She is my baby but she is getting so grown up. While she was out with some friends Friday night, she texted to let me know about what time she would be home, and a sudden wave of sadness came over me. A year from now she will be college, and she won’t be texting me her location changes, or asking for permission to stay out later….(((sigh))) I love that girl and I will miss her!
We had a busy weekend, high school football and girls volleyball. Lots of fun! The football team won big! Hooray for Mr. 15. (#65 on the football field)
He called this morning from school to ask me to bring his choir music down to the school. No problem. I headed right over and in to the choir room. He seemed happy to see me and I chatted with him and then the teacher for a minute. The room was full of teen aged girls, trying on their performance dresses. One of them (a darling senior) came up to my son and gave him a full body hug! AAAGGHH! I suppose I know it’s okay but maybe not with mom right there! He too is growing up so fast.
One last funny story from church. I teach the five year olds and they are a riot! I have an autistic boy in my class who loves mousetraps. The only reason he does not bring them to class is because he thinks I am allergic to them, just like bees! Hey whatever works right? Well we were singing a song that involves everyone clapping during the chorus. When it came to that point in the song, my little autistic student shouted at the TOP of his lungs, “MOUSETRAP!” All of my class collapsed in peals of laughter. I didn’t fall over but I was laughing hard enough to.
