Choose to become

Last weekend I attended a women’s conference called Time Out for Women (http://www.tofw.com/).  I wasn’t really planning on attending, my weekends are usually just as full as my weeks and last week end was no different.  However my hubby’s aunts were driving up to Denver for this conference and invited/encouraged/persuaded me to come with them.  We also took my mother-in-law.

Thanks anonymous blogger for taking this picture of ME! (polka dot dress)

It was a very interesting experience and to my surprise I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  There were a couple of musicians along with the speakers.  One was Hilary Weeks:  here is her laundry song

Anyway the theme of this conference was Choose to Become “All things are possible to him that believeth”  Mark 9:23    The presenters challenged each of the 1800 plus women that attended to ‘Become’ this year.  Decide what you want to become and work on it this year.

I could blog for pages and tell you all about every speaker!  They were all wonderful.

I feel like I should tell you about Merrillee Boyack’s talk. She made the goal to become stronger this year–she had a hard year and feels like she needs her strength back.  She talked about “Blazing our own trail” and the excitement that should bring us.  She gave us some suggestions on what we could strive to be:

B– Bold
E– Eternally Minded
C– Creative
O– Outward Focused
M– Meek
E– Enlightened

She also added another letter at the end:

U- Unique

Now I am back in my regular life, trying to apply this challenge and decide what I want to become.   Do I want to become better or different?  A better wife, mother, housekeeper, sister, daughter?  Still pondering….

How about you?  What do you want to become?
