Yes, it was my birthday. And you all know how I love my birthday. This year was no exception.
To cheer myself up from the ‘I’m-42-now’ blahs, I decided that a visit to Carrie was just the thing! I invited Blair to come (I said, “I’m going to Carrie’s…are you in or out?”) and he said he was coming.
We left Friday afternoon, which, as you recall was Carrie’s anniversary, and got to Carrie’s town in time to go out to dinner with her and the dude she married.
Next day, Dude took Blair out to shoot at stuff, and Carrie and I were free to party. She had hired a sitter to watch the little Misses and we were off. Our plan? To party like rich girls.
We got pedicures, shopped for shoes, and had lunch out.
Here’s a funny thing. We discovered we have two very different shopping styles. Sometimes, when my dear sister buys something, she immediately regrets buying. She has frequent unexplainable cases of ‘buyer’s remorse’. Not the worst I’ve ever seen (let’s just say she gets this genetically), but pretty serious.
I, on the other hand, have that remorse in reverse. I always wish I HAD bought the thing I decided not to buy. These, for example:
These are the shoes I bought, and while I do love them, now I’m wishing I also had the above pair.
Hmmm….Anyway, one more pic, taken before I had to return to daily life:
Nice! We are totally hot:)
Let’s hope the year of ’42’ rocks as great as the birthday weekend!:)
p.s. for those of you who know how Blair usually is a bad gifter, let me assure you he did an awesome job this year. Flowers, jewelry and a new front door were involved:)

So glad that you had a fun birthday!!
Sounds like you had a great birthday! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself–you work so hard and you totally deserve it 🙂
I know you probably don’t want to be practical but the shoes you got will go with more stuff you will be wearing. Actually 42 sounds great to me. You’ll have a great year.
Happy birthday! And, those shoes are totally hot! You might need to tell me where you saw them so I can go get them! I love wedges and thos were awesome!!
