Back to school or as I like to call it the $$$$ pit

Well, the kids will be heading back to school next week!  Yep, you read that right, next week.  Friday my Mr. 14 will be going to Freshman orientation.  The rest will follow on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Hooray!  Back to school, the kids will hang out with the friends they missed over the summer.  The house will be much quieter.

We just have to finish getting them all ready to go….

Yesterday and today we had the dubious fun of registering kids for school.  $35 for the middle schooler.  $153 today for Miss 16,plus $24 for pictures.  And I go in on Tuesday to register Mr. 14–who wantsto play football–the total will be over $250!  Yikes!  The elementary school boy will only be $10.  Yay for one cheap child!

And that is NOT including the back to school supplies, back to school clothes and shoes, the dental visits, eye exams, sports physicals, vaccinations, and whatever else I have forgotten.  

And I am certain I have forgotten several things.

Money aside, now lets talk about the actual back to school part of things.  The kids will be out of the house for 6 plus hours a day!  Bad news, they will bring back homework, and notes from  teachers.   They will also need lunches and will come home starving after school!

Hmmm, as I think over all this money spending and homework, I am starting to reconsider sending them back to school.  

Maybe summer should be just a bit longer.
