Happy Birthday Carrie!
She is, well now that I am thinking about it, she may not want you all to know just how old she is. So I guess I will leave it at this- she is younger than both Maren and I!
Carrie is one of my best friends. I was only 2 but I remember when my mom brought her home from the hospital. I was thrilled with this new toy. I used to watch her sleep. I loved trying to give her toys to play with and as soon as she could crawl I insisted that she follow me everywhere! I bossed her around alot! I held her hand as she learned to walk. I pretty much potty trained her to the delight of my parents.
Every time I started a new part of my life that Carrie was not quite ready for, like going to school, I would explain it all to her. We spent hours playing school so I could teach her the alphabet and how to read and count. We shared friends, clothes, and hairstyles.
She even followed me to college–for a couple of years.
This is not to say that she only copied me. She did marching band in high school, tried drama, and traveled to Mexico. She learned to make her own path. I like to think I taught her this, too. I encouraged her to be brave and try new things!
All in all, I raised a good little sister who grew up to be a wonderful sister, a fantastic mom and an awesome woman!
WE LOVE YOU CARRIE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
