An amazing thing happened this week….I know you think I am going to say the Broncos won! And they did! And it was AMAZING!
But this post is not about my amazing Broncos, it is about my amazing son. This week Mr. 14 ate beans, willingly, and had more than one helping.
This has never happened before. He is a relatively picky eater, okay, he is a picky eater. He doesn’t like vegetables or fruits. By his own admission he is a carnivore, or specifically, a baconivore. He loves meat!
Despite his preferences, I make and serve lots of other foods including fruits and vegetables. Because he is 14, he eats a tiny polite nibble, and then waits until I am not close by to devour cereal or bread until he is full.
But this week when I made a delicious bean and turkey chili, with green chilies and tomatoes, the boy ate lots of it! I was so excited! Will it happen ever again? Who knows? But maybe–just like maybe the Broncos will beat the Patriots on Saturday–and I will keep hoping it will!
